Info | Lashunda Scales was born in the Birmingham metropolitan area in 1971 and reared in the western section of the city. She is a graduate of Phillips High School (1989), and is also a 2005 Jefferson State Community College graduate with an Associate Degree in Applied Science. Married by the age of 20, she and her husband of fourteen years, Michael Scales, are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters. Mrs. Scales and her family are faithful members of Faith Chapel Christian Center, and she resides in the Echo Highlands community. Mrs. Scales is also the grand-daughter of Bishop Robert and Mary Crim. QUALIFICATIONS AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:
Mrs. Scales worked with two Birmingham Mayoral candidates (1999, 2003) and one current Birmingham City Councilman (2001).
Mrs. Scales served on the Jefferson County Health Departments committee for the Healthy Start program; a program designed to reduce the infant mortality rate within poverty-stricken communities.
Mrs. Scales served as the Birmingham Public Relations Consultant for the United Negro College Funds,Evening of Stars and the UNCF Annual Gala (2002).
Mrs. Scales currently serves as a motivational speaker and mentor for many children within the Birmingham Public School system.
Mrs. Scales served as a volunteer media coordinator on the City of Birminghams committee for the homecoming celebration for Winter Olympic Gold medalist Vonetta Flowers.
Mrs. Scales served as a volunteer dexterity feature for UPN 68s Black History Notes" ; which gave homage to legendary businessman, Dr. A.G. Gaston.
Mrs. Scales has served as the Public Relations and Event Coordinator Consultant for the Southeastern Regional Battle of the Bands from 1996 to present date, the Labor Day Classic games 2001- 2003, and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) games hosted in Birmingham 2002-2003.
Mrs. Scales has also coordinated a national array of inspirational entertainment for the Birmingham market as well, such as: The UniverSoul Circus, Bishop T.D. Jakes hit stageplays: Woman Thou Art Loosed, Behind Closed Doors , and Cover Girls: She also worked as a volunteer media coordinator for the Tom Joyner Morning Show 2001 and 2002, and a Marketing Consultant for Judge Greg Mathis stage play, Been There, Done That. And, more recent, the 2004 Burger KingĀ® grand opening for NBA legend, Earvin Magic Johnson to name a few.
