Info | Anne Dicker, one of the Democratic Party's emerging young leaders, is running for State Representative in the 175th District. Co-founder of Philly for Change – a 3,000 member grassroots organization (an outgrowth of the Howard Dean presidential campaign in 2004.), she led the successful fight against Social Security privatization, organized efforts to increase the minimum wage, and demanded accountability when the Commonwealth Legislature voted themselves a pay raise without adequate public oversight.
Anne has served on the Democracy for America Advisory Board and the Board of ADA SEPA and has worked on national and local political campaigns.
Anne lives in the Queen Village neighborhood of Philadelphia with her husband Simon, a physicist. Prior to becoming a full-time activist, Anne was an executive at Spencer Gifts. She graduated from Middlebury College in 1994.
Education: Middlebury College, BS Economics, 1994; University of Toledo, Graduate Studies in Geography and Urban Planning, 1995-1996
