| Info | Matt Shaner is currently the Vice President of Development/Investor Relations for the Shaner Companies located in State College, Pennsylvania. He is responsible for identifying new hotel development projects for the company, raising capital for Shaner Hotels new-build projects, and for raising capital for different energy projects that the Shaner Companies pursue. The Shaner Companies are a family owned company that Matt's father, Lance Shaner, founded. The Shaner Companies are one of the largest companies in the Centre region.
Mr. Shaner attended the Pennsylvania State University and majored in history. Matt served as the Centre County Chairman of President Bush's 2004 re-election campaign. Matt has political experience on Capitol Hill and has worked on the staff in the United States Senate for Senator Rick Santorum, and is the current Centre County Chairman for Santorum 2006. Matt helped lead the effort in central Pennsylvania as the Chairman for various counties in Pat Toomey's election against Arlen Specter, helping Pat win the State College-Altoona (Blair and Centre County) area in the 2004 Primary.
Matt is a member of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Tourism and Lodging Association, is a member of the board of directors of the Penn State Quarterback Club, is a member of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Society. Mr. Shaner is involved with a variety of charities, including the United Way, the Second Mile, the Hole in the Wall Gang, and a charity that he helped found, Kicks 4 Kids. Matt resides in State College, Pennsylvania with his wife, Andrea, and their two daughters, Grace and Rose.
