InfoDanny Walker has made his career in agriculture for nearly 30 years. He has been an active member of his community, serving in a number of volunteer capacities. In the past, he has been president of the Cardigan Home and School, chair of the Cardigan School Playground Committee and a minor hockey coach and manager. He is currently active with the St. Georges Parish Council.

Danny is committed to promoting ideas of economic growth in the area.
"We truly need a long-term strategy. With the loss of Islanders living in rural communities, our social infrastructure is crumbling." Our traditional industries of tourism, agriculture, fisheries and forestry need and deserve to be supported and strengthened.

Danny recognizes that it is difficult for many Islanders to knit together a decent income from seasonal and part-time work. A key challenge is to keep our young people at home and offer them the tools they need to excel. Only then can our rural communities thrive.

In addition to wanting to make lives better for residents, Danny also believes it is time to bring a greater sense of fairness and respect to the way politicians lead. He wants to hear from residents and make sure that their concerns take precedence over any passing political considerations.

Danny Walker lives in St. Georges with his wife Bernadette. They have two sons, Peter and Michael.
