InfoPeter Mesheau was sworn in as Minister of Business New Brunswick and Minister responsible for eNB in June, 2003. He continued to serve in this capacity until February 14, 2006. He has also served as Minister of Finance, Minister of Investment and Exports, Minister responsible for Service New Brunswick, and Minister of the former Economic Development, Tourism and Culture Departments.

He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick in a by-election November 17, 1997, as a Progressive Conservative MLA and he is proud to represent the constituency of Tantramar. Mr. Mesheau served as opposition health critic and on the Standing Committees on Private Bills, Public Accounts and Law Amendments. He was also a member of the Select Committee on Energy and was appointed co-chair of the National Committee on Internal Trade in April, 2000. He was re-elected in the provincial general elections of June, 1999 and 2003.

Mr. Mesheau was born in Sackville, N.B., home of Mount Allison University. Following high school, he worked in theatre and television before graduating from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. He worked extensively in the communications, manufacturing, and marketing sectors.

Over the years, he has been an active volunteer with numerous community and business groups.
