InfoMark Longietti was born and raised in Sharpsville by middle-class parents who taught him the value of education, hard-work, and helping others. His father, Al, worked in the Powerhouse at Sharon Westinghouse Electric until he died suddenly in 1983. His mother, Pearl, worked as an elementary school teacher for 20 years in the Sharpsville Area School District. In 1986, his mother married Tony Knott who served as Executive Director of the F. H. Buhl Club for over 30 years.

In 1981, Mark graduated from Sharpsville Area High School with honors and went on to Westminster College. At Westminster, he developed a love for politics, government and public service while excelling in his academic studies. He was recognized as the “Senator of the Year” by the Westminster student government, was awarded the Outstanding Senior Service Award by the Alumni-in-Residence Club, and served as Executive Chairman of the Mock Democratic National Convention that involved 85% of the student body and featured U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden (D-Del.) as keynote speaker. Longietti graduated from Westminster College in 1985, Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Economics and Political Science. He entered Boston College Law School that same year and graduated in 1988 Cum Laude with a law degree. At Boston College, Longietti formed the Financial Aide Committee to assist fellow students who were experiencing delays in receiving financial aid, and he served as Managing Editor of the Uniform Commercial Code Reporter Digest.

After law school, Longietti immediately returned home and he was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania in 1988. He served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Albert E. Acker, President Judge of the Mercer County Court of Common Pleas from 1988-1989. In 1989, Mark joined the Sharon law firm of Routman, Moore, Goldstone & Valentino as an associate and he was made a partner in the firm in 1999. In 2001, Longietti established his own law practice in Sharon. He has focused his practice on representing public school districts, local governments and ordinary citizens. Longietti has also been involved in a number of community organizations and has held leadership positions in the United Way of Mercer County, the local chapter of the American Heart Association, Community Child Care Center, and the First Baptist Church of Sharon, where he currently teaches Sunday School and serves as Worship Leader and Moderator.

A lifelong Democrat, Longietti has helped Democratic candidates on the local, state and national levels. He served as a Field Coordinator in Butler, Beaver and Lawrence Counties for the Victory ’92 Clinton/Gore effort; Deputy Campaign Manager for Bill Leavens for Congress in 1994; and Scheduler/Fundraiser/Field Staff for Ron Klink for U.S. Senate in 2000. Longietti has attended the past three Democratic National Conventions as an elected Alternate Delegate and Delegate in 1996 and 2000 and as an appointed Platform Committee member in 2004. He has served as an elected member of the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee since 1994 and has served that body as Chairman of the Northwest Caucus (15 counties) since 1998 and was appointed Chairman of the Affirmative Action Committee for the Delegate Selection Plan in 2004.
