InfoI am a graduate of Louisiana State University holding a B.A. in History. I am three hours (of Latin) short of a B.A. in English with a minor in Political Science. After graduation I discovered that History Majors are not exactly the most employable individuals. I returned to Baton Rouge and attended LSU's Department of Continuing Education's Paralegal Program. After earning that certificate I interned with the Baton Rouge Bar Association -- focusing upon family law. I worked for a private attorney in Baton Rouge as an entry level paralegal where I discovered that I enjoyed criminal law the most. I continued to volunteer with the Baton Rouge Bar Association with events such as Law Day and Lawyers Work for Food.

Criminal Defense is a unique field -- and here again, employment is not plentiful. I elected to work with the East Baton Rouge Public Defender's office (pro bono) under the tutelage of the late Bert Garraway while I worked nights at a gas station, and obtained my Civil Law Notary Commission. After approximately a year of Courtroom experience I began working as a criminal defense paralegal in a private law office while preparing for the LSAT. This spring I was planning on applying to law school for this coming fall. The storm has altered these plans.

In the summer of 1999 I worked on a historical preservation project in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. A good portion of downtown Wylie, TX had burned in a Christmas eve fire in 1998. I worked as a framing / trim carpenter that summer learning the art and significance of historical preservation.

In 1995 I began a small business which specialized in Courthouse research and private service of process. Eventually this business adopted the name Special Litigation Services, L.L.C. which is a Baton Rouge domiciled entity. The scope of this company was Statewide legal research; conducting insurance fraud investigations, criminal background research and location of individuals who were otherwise unable to be found through conventional methods.

Currently the office of this business is serving as my residence as my home in Lakeview is uninhabitable.

Prior to finishing my undergraduate I worked in the administration of a parking company in New Orleans. I did research work at the College of Pharmacy at Xavier University in transdermal flux of topical anesthetics. Our patients came from Charity Hospital.

I am a native of Connecticut where I attended St. Joseph's High School in Trumbull. As a child New Orleans was my second home. I spent every summer in New Orleans from age 7 until I graduated high school and relocated to Louisiana. I have been a resident of Lakeview since 1989. My grandfather, Dr. John Adriani, was appointed Assistant to the Director of Charity Hospital in 1941 and was chief of anesthesiology of Charity for thirty-five years. My father, John Nicholas Adriani, Sr., is a native New Orleanian and a 1962 graduate of Holy Cross. After four years touring with the Navy he married my mother, Elaine, and moved to Connecticut. I have two younger brothers and one sister who also reside in Fairfield County Connecticut.

My passions are writing and the study of politics. The reason why I am I am running in this Mayoral race is because New Orleans is important to me and I can see no-one with clairvoyant policy which encompasses every individual's needs in the City. Quite frankly, it appears that there are many who are in this race for their own little reasons and fiefdoms. None of the Candidates understand truly what it is like to tear the paster walls out of their own homes and then sit around watching the grass they have planted grow wondering what the next move will be.

My goals are simple -- each of us have been affected here and we should all be able to have the opportunity to rebuild. A select few does not qualify as inclusive.

I am running as an open minded Democrat with a staunch fiscal conservative stance.
