InfoJeff Crank, 39, has been married for 14 years to Lisa Crank. Jeff and Lisa have two children: Joel, 8; and Jessica, 3. Jeff was born in Pueblo, Colorado, and has lived in Colorado all of his life until 1990, when he moved to the Washington, D.C. area before returning in 1998.

Jeff most recently was the Senior Vice President for Governmental Affairs for the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce. He joined the Chamber as Vice President in May 1998 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in October 2001. He has been a frequent guest-host on the Joseph Michelli show on News Radio 740 KVOR. In 2004, that experience led him to host a weekly public affairs radio show, the Chamber Connection with Jeff Crank on Newstalk 1460 KZNT which he continued to host until his candidacy for Congress.

Jeff served as a staff member to U.S. Congressman Joel Hefley (R-CO) on Capitol Hill from 1991 until 1998. Jeff served as Administrative Director to the Congressman where he was responsible for all administrative operations of the Congressman's Washington office. Additionally, he was the staff person responsible for the Congressman's work on the House Armed Services Committee dealing with funding for the U.S. Department of Defense, including military procurement, research and development, readiness, and personnel issues. During this time, Congressman Hefley was the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Military Installations and Facilities which had oversight for U.S. military construction projects world-wide, and for base realignment and closure issues.

Over the last 15 years, Jeff has been an active participant in the campaign to prevent the closure of Fort Carson, Colorado, through the base closure process. He has worked at the Congressional level to secure funding for El Paso County's five military installations and helped author legislation that allowed privatized family housing at military installations throughout the United States. He also helped author legislation that provided for Medicare subvention, providing health care to military retirees over 65. In addition, he authored, on behalf of Mr. Hefley, an amendment approved by the House which prohibited the transfer of any missile equipment or technology to China. Jeff also served as Congressman Hefley's Legislative Assistant for defense issues and his education, labor, and government operations where he was responsible for all legislative initiatives in these areas.

Jeff graduated from Colorado State University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. He received the Marjorie S. Holt award from the Retired Enlisted Association in 1994. In 1999 he was selected by the Secretary of the Air Force to participate in the National Security Forum at Air War College. In addition, on four occasions, he has been selected to attend the U.S. Air Force Space Command's Guardian Challenge competition with the 50th Space Wing. In September, 2003 he was appointed by Governor Bill Owens to the Colorado Emergency Planning Commission for a two year term. In May, 2004 he was appointed by El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa to serve on the El Paso County Citizens Corps Council. He was elected Chairman of the 5th Congressional District Republican Central Committee in 2001 and was re-elected in 2003. He served as El Paso county co-chair for the Bush-Cheney 2004 Campaign. He is a precinct committee person and was elected in 2004 to serve as a bonus member to the State Republican Central Committee.

Jeff's hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and, most importantly, spending time with his family.
