| Info | Jana is a native Idahoan. She is married to Ross Jones and has three beautiful daughters and one grandson.
Jana L. Jones graduated with both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Special Education from Utah State University and has earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Idaho State University.
Early in her career Jana worked in a federally funded early childhood special education program at Utah State University. She was a special education teacher in Idaho Falls School District 91. For thirteen years Jana owned and operated a childcare center/preschool and kindergarten program that included children with disabilities. Jana was one of the very first infant toddler early intervention specialists in Region 7. She was the administrator of early childhood programs in the Governor’s Office for Children.
In her work for the Idaho State Department of Education, Jana has worked as a regional consultant and Chief of the Bureau of Special Education providing statewide leadership and program direction for special education in the public schools of Idaho. She also has served as a Deputy Superintendent and is currently the Chief Deputy Superintendent. As Chief Deputy Superintendent Jana is responsible for educational improvement in Idaho schools and administration of the Department of Education. Jana has served on several state and national Boards and task forces.
