|Info||A proud Wisconsin native, Paul R. Nelson is a dedicated family man, successful realtor and a former United States Marine who is committed to helping make America safer and defending our freedoms. |
Paul’s background proves he is dedicated to serving our nation and is fully capable of adequately representing the people of Western Wisconsin in a tough Washington environment. Raised in the Third District in Somerset, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps upon graduation from Somerset High School. Paul’s service as a U.S. Marine instilled in him the values he holds today and will bring as U.S. Representative for the 3rd Congressional District: valor, honor, hard work and patriotism. In 1984 Paul married his high school sweetheart, Janis, a Woodville native. After four honorable years of service, he settled back to Western Wisconsin with his wife Janis.
Paul and Janis have lived in Woodville for the last 17 years, raising four children ages 20 to 3. He has been a realtor since 1994, allowing him to work with hundreds of families throughout Western Wisconsin. This has provided Paul with the opportunity to see firsthand the pride of home ownership as well as the negative effects excessive taxation has on economic growth.
A member of the Blackhawk Hockey Association, the Western Wisconsin Realtors Association, and the Woodville Lions Club, Paul’s commitment to public service and desire to effect positive changes for Wisconsin and the entire nation compelled him to explore the idea of running for Congress. Having spent a great deal of time traveling and meeting the residents of the Third District and inspired by their encouragement, Paul decided the time was right, and he became the Third District's Republican Congressional Candidate.
Paul’s Western Wisconsin roots, Marine Corps experience, family support, faith in God, business success, and community involvement have made him the effective leader that he is today. More importantly, they’ve made him the right candidate for change in Western Wisconsin!
