InfoDenise Jones has a BS Business Administration, Finance Major, University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC, 1981 with overall GPA of 3.2/4.0. She attended the Governor’s EXCEL Leadership Institute in 2002.

In 2005, Governor Sanford appointed Denise as a Commissioner on the SC Commission of National and Community Services. She held several Division Director positions within the Finance Departments with South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Georgia Department of Medicaid, and South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. She was a delegate to the SC White House Conference on Aging. As you can see Denise has a history working for the State Government. She knows the issues, people, and she has the knowledge to help our state.

Denise Jones is committed to public education and our children. She has been a mentor at Killian Elementary School in Columbia. Both of her Children went to public schools and she understands that we need to reform our education system. Our SAT scores are the lowest in the nation and we need to stop playing the blame game and fix this problem.

Denise Jones works for minorities. The SC General Assembly is the 50th in the nation for women in the General Assembly. She is active with a Older Adult Bible Study program with her church, Fairlawn United Methodist Church and I. Dequincy Newman United Methodist Church. This program, sponsored by the Duke Foundation and The SC United Methodist Conference, aligns two churches from different races to form groups of 8 to 12 adults ages 50 and older, led by one person from each congregation. This program has definitely created a more caring community within this group.

Denise is a dedicated Republican. She is a member of the Capital City Republican Women, a member of the Richland County Republican Party, and she is running as a Republican. She wants to keep the conservative values in South Carolina.
