Info | Russ Warner is a dedicated husband and father and successful small businessman who will work hard for America’s families. He is running for Congress in the 26th district, which spans the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley from La Crescenta to his home in Rancho Cucamonga.
Russ has lived in the district for 25 years with his wife, Kris, and their three sons. Twins Adam and Matt work in the family business. Greg, the eldest, is in the U.S. Army and served in Iraq. Upon his return home from the war, Greg urged his father to run, challenging Russ to make a difference.
A strong work ethic and the importance of family and community were instilled in Russ at an early age by his grandfather, a West Virginia minister, and his stepfather, who worked tirelessly to provide for the family. Seeking a better life, Russ’ father moved the family to Ohio, then Arizona, finally settling in California when Russ was 12 years old.
After graduating from high school, Russ worked fulltime while enrolled at Cypress Junior College before taking a position at U.S. News & World Report, where he learned the magazine distribution trade. But like many Americans in the boom and bust of the 80s, Russ was downsized. He seized the opportunity and invested the family savings in an idea. With the support of his wife and children, countless 16-hour days, and few weekend breaks, Russ turned Warner International Periodical Services into one of the top niche magazine distribution companies in the country, supporting many other small businesses in the process.
While our nation may have difficult times ahead, Russ’ life experience will lead to solutions. He will protect the middle class, support our troops, honor our veterans, and promote small business as the foundation of our new economy. Russ believes we need new leadership in Washington that will work hard and engage in true diplomacy and honest debate.
