InfoYOUNG, George Morley, a Representative from North Dakota; born in Lakelet, Huron County, Ontario, Canada, December 11, 1870; when a boy moved to the United States and settled in St. Charles, Mich.; attended the public schools; was graduated from the law department of the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis in 1894; was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Valley City, N.Dak.; member of the board of aldermen in 1898 and 1899; member of the State house of representatives 1900-1902; served in the State senate 1904-1908 and was president pro tempore during the entire term; elected as a Republican to the Sixty-third and to the five succeeding Congresses and served from March 4, 1913, to September 2, 1924, when he resigned to accept a judicial position; appointed as a member of the United States Customs Court at New York City in 1924; served as associate judge until 1932 and as presiding judge until his death in New York City, May 27, 1932; interment in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City, N.Dak.
