Info | COOPER, Thomas, a Representative from Delaware; born in Little Creek Hundred, Sussex County, Del., in 1764; completed preparatory studies; member of the State house of representatives 1803-1808; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1805 and practiced; served in the State senate in 1808; elected as a Federalist to the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Congresses (March 4, 1813-March 3, 1817); resumed the practice of law in Georgetown, Del., where he died in 1829; interment in the Cooper family cemetery, near Laurel, Del.
