InfoSt. John’s native Paul Antle is the Liberal candidate for St. John’s East.

Mr. Antle is a part-time student at Harvard Business School and a current degree holder in Chemical Engineering. He is currently President and CEO of Island Waste Management Inc., Newfoundland and Labrador’s only integrated hazardous waste management service provider, and President and CEO of Phase Separation Solutions Inc., a Western Canadian company that specializes in the thermal treatment of contaminated soil. From 1988 to 1999, Mr. Antle was President and CEO of SCC Environmental Group Inc., a company that patented world-class thermal desorption technology. He successfully grew the company internationally to having operations on four continents.

In a voluntary capacity, Mr. Antle is currently Chair of the Board of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, past-Chair of the Board of the Newfoundland and Labrador Legacy Nature Trust and a member of the University of New Brunswick Campaign Cabinet.

From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Antle was a member of the Prime Minister’s National Round Table on the Environment and Economy and for six years was Chair of a Special Advisory Group on International Trade for the Environment. In addition, he has been active in a variety of provincial and national organizations geared to promoting the environment.

Mr. Antle was inducted into the Academy of Entrepreneurs in September 1995; was a Finalist for Atlantic Canada’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1995; received a World Young Business Achiever Award in 1997; and was recognized for his contribution to the Newfoundland Environmental Industry in 2002. In August 2002 he was part of Canada’s Official Delegation to the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development held in Johannesburg, South Africa. In May 2003 he was a recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under-40 Award and in November 2003 he was named Alumnus of the Year for Gonzaga High School.

Mr. Antle currently lives in St. John’s with his wife Renee Marquis and their son Mark.
