Rep. Amber H. Boykins, a Democrat, represents part of St. Louis City (District 60) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Elected to her first term in 1998, Rep. Boykins serves as chair of the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus.

Rep. Boykins is the youngest African American woman legislator in the history of the Missouri House. She is also the daughter of former State Representative Billie A. Boykins, who served in the House from 1978-1982. Additionally, Rep. Boykins and former State Representative Boykins are the only mother and daughter combination to serve in the Missouri House. They were featured in Jet Magazine. Rep. Boykins was also chosen by Essence Magazine as "30 Women to Watch -- Women at the Top of their Class," the next generation of pioneering black women.

A 1999 Henry Toll Fellow, Rep. Boykins is a member of the following organizations: Women in Government, state director; Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., a national public service sorority; Council of State Governments; the state Democratic Party; National Order of Black Elected Legislative Women; Penrose-O'Fallon Family Initiative, board member; Big Brothers/Big Sisters; St. Louis Ambassadors and Columbia College Alumni board.

Rep. Boykins is a former elementary school educator and day care center director. She has also worked with the mentally challenged and assisted families through the Division of Family Services. Rep. Boykins is a graduate of Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory High School in St. Louis and a graduate of Columbia College in Columbia, Mo. She is currently pursuing an MBA and a juris doctorate.
