Info | Born in Germany, Thomas also lived in Japan and England but calls Canada his home since 1992. He lives in beautiful Hatchet Lake, with his lovely wife Kanayo, and their two children, Nami Jane (4) and Kai (7).
With a Ph.D. in high-energy physics from Aachen University in Germany, this professor of computer science at Dalhousie University is interested in brain science and has recently published a textbook on computational neuroscience with Oxford University Press.
A member of Dalhousie’s Senate committee on the environment, Thomas is also the director of the interdisciplinary graduate program in electronic commerce and is involved with several community-oriented organizations.
Thomas, along with many other Canadians, is concerned how little progress has been made for a healthier future of our communities. Our business strategies are set up to make a few people rich on the backs of all other people. Why do some corporations make lots of money while polluting our air and water? These are our assets for which they don’t pay! Why do we have to pay for their 'success' with increasing health costs and environmental challenges? Building a sustainable community that benefits us is the goal for Thomas.
