Info | Edward J. Gaffney, Sr. 76, of Brick, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. He was born in 1938 in the Bronx to Walter and Catherine Gaffney. Raised in the Bronx with his two brothers, Mr. Gaffney attended Saint Anselm's before marrying Anna Sepulveda in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Gaffney and wife Anna raised their cherished family of six children in Newton, NJ. Here, he became politically active and was the founder of the Pro Life Political Action Committee. Mr. Gaffney had a natural entrepreneurial spirit. A former bar owner, both in the Bronx and in Newton, he went on to become a Public Insurance Adjuster, owning and operating his own business for many years. In 1990, he and his wife Anna moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where they lived for over four years. They moved back to New Jersey, settling in Brick in 1995, where they began to devote their time to their family as wonderful grandparents. Mr. Gaffney enjoyed history, nature, fishing, music (especially, Paul Simon and Andrea Bocelli), the New York Mets, and making people laugh; most of all, he cherished spending time with his loving family.
