InfoCouncilwoman Miller is a lifelong resident of Germantown in the Eighth Councilmanic District. She has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life in her community over the years. Her leadership role in grassroots campaigns and community organizations aimed at eradicating some of the most severe problems in our neighborhoods has made Councilwoman Miller an important resource. Donna has the experience and the commitment to partner with the community to find new and innovative ways of impacting such issues as Community Vitality (i.e. drugs, violence, a cleaner and safer community). Education, Housing, Unemployment and Economic Development.

Recently Donna completed serving her fourth term as President of the Central Germantown Council, a community development corporation in the business district. In her tenure as President, Donna Reed Miller's leadership and perseverance fostered the revitalization of the business district. Donna was the first member of the Special Services planning committee. Her commitment, dedication and outreach efforts ignited the participation of residents and business owners along the Germantown Avenue corridor. This collaboration of involvement led to the formation of the Germantown Special Services District (GSSD). It was the first neighborhood special services district modeled after the Center City Special Services District. Donna served as a board member of GSSD and continues to advocate for a clean and safe business corridor.

Councilwoman Miller has a commitment and a passion for economic development. Donna has initiated several community development projects within the 8th Councilmanic District including Freedom Square, DeBeary Square, and the forthcoming David P. Richardson, Jr. Plaza. Because of her astuteness with community development projects, Councilwoman Miller was named as one of the 100 People to Watch by Philadelphia Business Magazine in 1996.

A fifth generation Germantown family member, Donna Reed Miller resides in the Morton section where she remains actively involved in the community. Councilwoman Miller is married and the mother of a 13 year old daughter, Shakira. Her eldest daughter, Tari MeSween, died of ediatric cancer in 1987.

Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller is a leader, a lady, and a liaison for the people. Councilwoman Miller believes in the community and she continues to advocate for the community.
