|Info||Sheriff Ray Nash, a native son of South Carolina, has spent a lifetime of service to the Palmetto State and its people. |
Ray with Kay, his wife of 30 years
In his thirty-four years as a law enforcement professional, Ray quickly rose through the ranks becoming one of this nation’s youngest police chiefs at age 23. Ray continued to serve in executive leadership for over twenty years including twelve years as the elected Sheriff of Dorchester County, S.C.
More recently, Ray has just returned from three years of serving his country in the war zone of Afghanistan as the Criminal Justice Adviser for the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. During his tour, he worked shoulder-to-shoulder with military personnel, foreign service officers, ambassadors, Afghan governmental officials, and international colleagues on a daily basis.
This in depth, firsthand experience in both Foreign and National Security initiatives provides Sheriff Nash with a unique and valuable perspective on determining America’s path going forward.
As our congressman, Ray Nash will be a strong and credible voice for formulating a foreign policy that puts America’s interests first while endeavoring to maintain our military’s preeminence in an ever challenging and dangerous world.
As South Carolinians, Ray and his wife have lived in the Low Country for nearly all of their thirty years of marriage, and are a proud homeschooling family.
As a career law enforcement executive, Ray is well aware of the challenges facing our state and nation. In addition, his years of overseas service provide a unique perspective on the international issues and threats confronting us.
Perhaps most importantly, as a Constitutional scholar, Ray brings knowledge and an unfailing respect for our country’s faith, heritage and founding principles. According to Sheriff Nash, “our nation is facing a number of moral and Constitutional crises, such as rampant fiscal irresponsibility, unbridled government expansion and an ever growing assault on our Constitutional freedoms.” He believes solutions can be found in the principles of Constitutional conservatism and takes seriously his oath to “Preserve, Protect and Defend…”
Ray Nash urges the voters of South Carolina’s 1st District who long for a return to the morally sound, financially responsible, and Constitutionally limited federal government that our Founders envisioned to “Send a Sheriff to Congress!”
