InfoEric Matthew Edouard Wallace was born in Chicago, IL in 1958 to Joan and John Wallace. He is the second of three boys. They lived on Chicago's South side until Eric finished the third grade when his family moved to Wilmette, IL. At that time the Wallaces were the only African American family in Wilmette. Eric spent his freshman year at New Trier East High School where he ran track.

The Wallace family moved to Northern Virginia where Eric graduated from Herndon High School. He later spent two years at Howard University in the District of Columbia where his parents were professors. Eric later left Howard to attend Washington Bible College to study for the ministry. He later earned an M.A. from Alliance Theological Seminary, a Th.M from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia and a PhD from Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education (Union-PSCE). Dr. Eric M. Wallace holds the distinction of being the first African American to earn a PhD in Biblical studies from Union-PSCE.

While pursuing his education Dr. Wallace has worked in the ministry for over 28 years. He is an ordained minister and has worked as a Pastor, Youth Minister, Children's Minister, and a Christian education consultant. He has owned a number of businesses ranging from a publishing company to a dance studio. He has worked as a police officer and as the director of editorial for a publishing company. Dr. Wallace also served as an officer in the Maryland National Guard. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at North Park University and Elmhurst College. He is an Associate Minister at the Apostolic church of God. In addition, he has recently formed a new business where he serves as the President and CEO of Wallace Multimedia Group (WMG).

Dr. Wallace's introduction into politics came when his mother, Dr. Joan Wallace, became the first African American to serve as the US Assistant Secretary of Agriculture in 1977 in Washington DC. In the 1980's his step-father ran for Lt. Governor and later US Senate seat in Virginia as a Republican. Dr. Wallace, inspired by the re-election of George W. Bush and the election of other minorities in the Republican Party, was moved to start the African American Republican Council (AARC) of Illinois for which he serves as Chairman. He has worked in Mayor Conner's re-election campaign in Maywood, IL and with Schaumburg Township committeeman and State Representative Paul Froehlich.

Dr. Wallace's political strengths are that he is an effective realist. He is honest, dynamic, and has fresh ideas that work. He can get things done for people who are trapped in educational and social systems that don't work. He also brings with him the compassion of a minister, the entrepreneurial spirit of a business man, the intellect of a scholar, and the discipline of a soldier.
