InfoRalph Buffkin's career has been 42 years in the making. Since 1996, Ralph Buffkin has owned Buffkin Management Services, which specializes in management consulting to small businesses with less than $10 million in sales, providing them with financial and operations management expertise. He was also a partner in Azalea Capital Leasing, which handles commercial and industrial leases, but sold his partnership in 2003. In 1986, Buffkin held the Vice President post at Southern Valve and in 1994 became Vice President of Choctaw Transport, leaving to start his own business in 1996. From 1962 to 1986, Buffkin had a 24 year career with Ciba-Geigy that spanned logistics, production, maintenance and purchasing-when he left in 1986, Buffkin ran their entire purchasing operations. He graduated from the McGill Institute and obtained a B.S. degree in management from the University of South Alabama. Buffkin was recently appointed by Alabama Governor Bob Riley to serve as the 1st District Commissioner for the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. Besides his commitment to Mobile Works, Buffkin is also a member of the Board of the United States Sports Academy and recently ran for a seat on the Mobile County Commission.
