The Bonamici Campaign today released an ad that begins with a story about Suzanne's work as a consumer protection attorney. One of her first cases was to investigate consumer complaints that Nationwide Mortgage Corp. was misrepresenting loan terms to borrowers, causing families to lose their homes.
The case ended eight months later when the U.S. Department of Justice indicted the company and its president on 17 counts of fraud. The president was convicted and sentenced to nine years in prison.
The Nationwide case is a good example of how Suzanne started her career standing up for families and small businesses, and has never stopped.
