InfoDamien Mockus (August 15th 1974) is an American strength coach, personal trainer and a compassionate Texan with strong conservative values. He is the founder of the former training studio Fitness1on1 (2009-2017) and the founder of Gym Cypress (2017). Mockus was born legally deaf, raised by Catholic Parents, and was named after Saint/Father Damien of Molokai. Growing up in Piscataway NJ, Mockus had worked consistently since a young age of 13. During years at Piscataway HS, Mockus received state awards for craftsmanship in Metal Shop & received a notable senior year honor roll. However, it was not until being denied becoming a United States Marine he made the decision to move to Texas for school and career purposes. (July 1995)
Mockus has been helping people with their lives and goals for over 25 years. He has worked for Huntsville & Hermann Memorial Hospitals in cardiac rehab while working on degree in Kinesiology at Sam Houston State University. After graduation from SHSU (2003) he worked as a grad student intern at NASA’s muscle lab. Mockus has been a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) since 1997 and holds all 4 of their certifications. Mockus is also a life member of the NRA, a Member of Texas CCA, and Member of Pleasant Hill Masonic Lodge #380.

During the tender of Fitness1on1 training studio, he has created & held 3 events that has raised between $15-20,000 for: MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston 100 club (Police), and the Wounded Warriors foundation. It was after opening Gym Cypress that he strived to do more and help our community as well other than just being limited to those of his clients & gym members.

After opening Gym Cypress Mockus became a paid sponsor of Methodist Hospital, Willowbrook Sports Medicine dept. In which primary purpose was to service post physical therapy patients in the Gym. He also was responsible on behalf of Methodist Hospital to hold lectures and hands on strength & conditioning clinics for Klein ISD athletic coaches. Both Fitness1on1 and Gym Cypress have been contributors to numerous sporting events as sponsors by donating memberships & training to live/silent auctions throughout Cy-fair area and NW Houston.
