No. A Maine governor can serve an unlimited number of terms, so long as they only do two at a time followed by a break of at least one term.

Its weird that anyone ever thought this was, like, a good idea that would turn out well.

The matter is so mindlessly simple that it's a wonder we somehow find contention over it. The Constitution has three qualifications to vote:

1) 18 years old or more
2) Citizen
3) Not otherwise convicted of a felony wherein voting rights are revoked

Any law designed to screen those who meet all three from those who don't is acceptable. Any law that prohibits those who meet the three or allows those who fail one of the three is unacceptable. Where is the dispute?

See?! Obummer can still get a gun, and everyone knows his background has never been checked. Just shows how useless gun control is.

On a tangent, while I like Jeb (and Hilary Clinton too) I seriously would like to be done with both families!

Every candidate will predict they have won with a majority. All such declarations are meaningless.

This country on the whole would be well served by incorporating certain elements of small-l libertarianism into our system of government. Unfortunately big-L Libertarians have a bad tendency of taking any idea with some merit to a patently absurd level.

I am not arguing against internships, which provide useful experience. What I have a problem with is that they are being institutionalized to provide a steady source of no-cost labor. Work should be compensated.

Kane for Senate: That's exactly my point. In the future it will be progressivism vs. libertarianism. Conservatism, especially social conservatism, is a dying ideology. Thank God.

Libertarianism is a radical conservative (reactionary) ideology. You can't roll back social gains that people have fought and died for over the centuries and then claim that you're "neither left nor right."

Yeah, big business would be super duper generous to employees and not at all abuse them if there were no regulations. Because that's totally how it was prior to those regulations.

The response, User#8957, is going to be that you went to school for a crappy degree and that it is therefore your fault that said degree required an unpaid internship. Assuming, of course, that what you said is accurate, that's still a ridiculous requirement.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. When it comes to who's going to show up to vote on election day, I'll put my money on the people angry over Obamacare over the people who have insurance only because of Obamacare.

I have no idea what point he's trying to make. It's hard to put Scalia and humility in the same paragraph, so I doubt that's it. There are a few minor errors in the majority opinion, but if he knew about those he'd be the first to trumpet that fact. He may reject evolution, but this isn't even about evolution - it's even more basic biology. It's most likely he's just giving a vaffanculo to the whole scientific community.

NZ may be heading towards a 9 in, 9 out pattern of government.

In 1999, Labour beat the Nationals comfortably but not overwhelmingly. In 2008, vice versa.

In 2002, Labour just missed out on an absolute majority while the Nats were decimated. In 2011, vice versa.

In 2005, Labour edged the Nats by a few seats and got the confidence and supply of parliamentary whores Winston Peters and Peter Dunne after relatively tense negotiations.

2014 could therefore be quite interesting and early polls seem to be bearing this out.

I thought she was interested in maybe running for Governor...

You mean, like after 1998?

Not likely.

And she could have run that year, if she really wanted to. Yet still she didn't. The close race of 1990 soured ol' Dianne on any future gubernatorial runs.
