Yeah, most of this map - particularly the ones at the top - is not surprising to me at all. I'm not sure if some Eastern European nations are as tolerant as this map makes them out to be, but all in all, I'm not particularly shocked.

Monsieur: No legitimate media operation in the US or Canada would pay $200,000 to admitted drug dealers for a recording.
Cue Gawker's "WE'RE JUST A BLOG HURR DURR" retort to try to absolve themselves of any shreds of integrity expected of a legitimate media operation.

I reached the same conclusion a while ago.
I'm a Republican, but I consider myself pretty fair. I guess everybody considers themselves that though. I think the President has many qualities of a great leader, especially in the public parts of the job. I think he represents the country pretty well while overseas. He hires high quality speech writers and executes their speeches very, very well. He's comfortable on late night television. He has a compelling personal story and a nice-looking family. He's certainly shown he has skill at winning elections.
As good as he is at the 'fun' parts of being president, he doesn't seem to like doing the hard parts. He doesn't seems to enjoy the managerial parts of being President. I don't think he would enjoy being locked in a room with the Speaker for hours talking about specific points of budgets the way, say, Bill Clinton would. A number of people, even his supporters, have said that he doesn't really like spending time with people all the much. (I sympathize with that. I don't like people either.) He clearly doesn't like firing people if he can avoid it. When he's threatening sticks and offering carrots to other politicians in backrooms, I don't think they're really that afraid of his sticks.
It's almost too bad that we don't have a separate head of state and head of government in this country. Obama has all of the skills of an amazing monarch or governor general. I think he'd have greater job satisfaction.

Speed limits are a burden on personal liberty and stifle economic activity. Frankly, it's refreshing to see a conservative politician not act like a grandmother on this issue.
Road safety has more to do with awareness of one's surroundings than it does about speed.

Actually looking back, the AIDS crisis may have played a huge psychological factor for closeted gay/bi men to stay in the closet and marry a woman.

Gay men around my age (40+) and older grew up in an environment that still put a premium on staying in the closet, getting married (to a woman) and having children. Stories like this will almost certainly become rarer with rapidly changing attitudes toward gays.

William Shakesman: This seems to be something Asian people (be they Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Vietnamese, etc.) seem to do no matter their economic status. Do white parents not do this with their kids?
I probably sound like a gigantic dickwad for saying this, especially considering what I just said about hipsters casting off all 'white people' as an amorphous blob, but yes, I'd say a degree of socioeconomic complacency exists in many middle-class white families that doesn't seem to exist in a good deal of Asian families.

Young people do have an unwarranted entitlement complex, but so did the baby boomers. This survey does not explain the disparity.
Moreover, when have young people ever been paragons of selflessness? World War II?

After all us gay Dems have been doing that for years til 2012 rolled around.

I'm not defending this guy's previous crimes, but he served his time, has an "okay" relationship with his wife and I'd say what's left is personal and for the family to work out to whatever satisfaction they desire.
What was he supposed to do? Just shrug and go "Golly gee, I think there's some people in trouble, but I can't help 'em. I have a criminal record."
