I don't think there is an effective way to do anything about it. What am I going to do, vote for someone else for President? Oh, wait, I already did that. Vote for someone else to be the Democratic leader? Nope, can't do that. I don't get a vote in that race. Write a strongly worded letter to my local paper? Hey, yeah, that'll shake 'em up!

Wouldn't matter if they did. They still wouldn't be able to get the party support, media attention, and money that you need to get elected President.

Considering that Kentucky isn't going to elect a Democratic Senator any time soon, and they certainly won't be tossing out the Republican Senate leader when they do, does it really matter?

What? Giving weapons to armed militants in a Middle Eastern country turned out to have negative consequences? Who could have foreseen that?

There was a poll at the time showing that, in a two-man race with Romney, Cain would have had 48% to Romney's 49%. In the full candidate field, Cain led by 10 points or more.
I don't think it's at all unreasonable to interpret a sizable polling lead, both nationally and in key states, as conferring frontrunner status. If the person running in front isn't the frontrunner, the term has little meaning.

Monsieur: In this riding, it was blatantly obvious from the quality of the campaigns and from the polls that the only contender to knock off Crockatt was Locke.
Um...what? If 1500 or so votes had swung the other way, Chris Turner would be an MP right now. How do you get from that that he wasn't a contender?

I'm not disagreeing with that. I'm just saying I can't imagine a woman describing getting raped and then getting pregnant as a gift from God.

Brandonius Maximus: These towns are quirky, IIRC. Sometimes they vote for whoever ultimately carries NH, sometimes they're way off. I think Bob Dole won them pretty lopsidedly in 1996.
The Dixville Notch vote has predicted the winner of the overall election every four years since 1968.

I'd rather they did pre-Episode I movies, because that era hasn't already been fleshed out.
The post-Episode VI era has been done quite well in novel form in the EU, so if they did any movies set in that era, they'll probably either butcher them in the adaptation or, worse, erase them from continuity altogether.

I find no end of amusement in controversies like this. The vast, overwhelming majority of Americans claim to believe in an all-powerful, all-knowing God, but any time some religious or political figure seems to suggest that some horrible occurrence was part of this omnipotent supreme being's divine plan (which, of course, it would have to be if He is really omnipotent), the offender is vigorously denounced and made to apologize.
Essentially, American theists solve the so-called "problem of evil" by aggressively pretending it doesn't exist and denouncing anyone who draws attention to it. Kind of like a macro case of those athletes who praise Jesus when they win, but don't mention Him when they lose.

On the one hand, I can't believe a professional campaign operative for a major party candidate actually said that in public.
On the other hand, that's actually pretty funny.

Are we being punished for something?

No. Read my post again. I was referring only to drone strikes.
But if you'd like to bring the Iraq War into this, we can discuss how many casualties occurred while Obama the Peacemaker was dragging his feet on withdrawing the troops, until the government of Iraq finally forced his hand by refusing to sign a SOFA that didn't include a withdrawal.

I'm frankly not sure how you could have missed it. He's inordinately proud of the nickname and it gets mentioned constantly. (He also put grizzly bear logos on all his campaign materials.)
