yeah, the majority coalition is pretty much 19 Rs plus 4 non-Republicans who represent the Bush (rural) areas.
the most amusing part of the process was when the first term legislators talked about trying to form a majority themselves despite not having the numbers, and then one of them sent their plan to someone outside of the circle and apparently messed it up, if it had any chance.

I think the perception is that no top two takes some votes away from Beutler that might not have voted in an R primary if they had an open primary
meanwhile, it's apparently Democrats fault for voting for a Democrat if Beutler loses this primary

my general rule of thumb is that if my hometown ends up in the KCMO news, it's usually not for good reasons (plenty of good news happens, it's just not on the news)
