up to and including sending armed agents to his ranch.

No. That was a gross exercise in intimidation. Put a lien against his ranch and business, send in the lawyers and confiscate the cattle illegally on the land.

If Pryor can pull this off, Landrieu can.

As someone who hates to sit through endless boring meetings, I don't see this as a huge problem.

I wanted to make this rant weeks ago but I didn't have a computer and I didn't want to type it out on my phone.

So anyway, it's in response to Eric Holder's NAACP speech where he talked about giving "the talk" to his teenage son, the talk about how young Black men should be mindful of police and not run from them.

Of course, all the commentators on CNN wrung their hands about how horrible it is that Black people have to do this with their kids.

Black people don't have to do this with their kids though.

Don't be an ******* to the cops, don't talk back even when they're being *******s, don't run from the cops. The reason White people don't have melodramatic talks with their kids about this things isn't because they aren't true with White people, it's because they're ****ing obvious.

If a White person does any of those things, they will get their ass beat just like a Black person would.

You really only need to have "the talk" with your kid if your kid is an idiot.

Actually, I think it would be quite viable. Its not like everyone who lives in that part of the state is some hayseed. It'd probably compare quite favorably to the remainder of Colorado.

The crook Jackson is a Democrat.
It seems to me (no hard data) that if a Republican elected official is a crook, unethical or immoral, he is identified as a Republican in the first sentence. If a Democrat is a crook or unethical, it is buried at the end of the article, or as in this case, not even mentioned.

Live and let live, but let's be real, transgender people are ****ed up. It's not a reason to discriminate against them or deny employment, but neither does it warrant knee-jerk political correctness.

I mean, I can't even imagine being born the "wrong sex." If I had a working vagina, I would be female and I wouldn't have a problem with that. I'd be a lesbian of course, but that's besides the point.

General thoughts on transsexuals:

I feel most transpeople are suffering from serious psychological issues and I feel most of the people who support their switching are just being knee jerk politically correct, and in being knee jerk politically correct, they are also going against a lot of their own principals.

For the most part, social liberals, feminists, people on the left will tell you that gender is a totally socially constructed concept with no real basis in biology. I basically agree with that. There's nothing inherently feminine about dresses. If a boy happens to like the color pink, he shouldn't be stigmatized. If a girl likes football, she shouldn't be stigmatized either.

The whole idea of "transgender" though seems to imply the exact opposite, gender is a real, concrete thing, furthermore, one so important that it justifies people surgically modifying healthy organs.

Additionally, I just don't buy the idea that a man born in a womans body would hate having a vagina so much that their natural reaction would be to take a bunch of drugs to turn their clitoris into a chode. No, that's not the reaction of someone born into the wrong body, that's the reaction of a crazy person. Ask 100 straight cis-people if they would rather have been born a gay member of the opposite sex or whether they would rather have some make shift, jury-rigged version of the genitals they were born with, 99 of them would say opposite sex without even thinking about it. At least I would.

I think there's more to it than his not being white. It's also the things Kevin said. He had one foreign-born parent, he has a foreign-sounding name, and he lived in Hawaii and Indonesia when he was young. All of that in combination does lend him a certain "exotic" aura, which again, is actually part of what a lot of people found attractive about him as a candidate. Perhaps it isn't "helpful" for people to look at it that way, but it is what it is, and absent some kind of xenophobic reaction to that impression (which is what Mystery Senator was less precisely alluding to), I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with it.

So it only helps the rich to increase the standard deduction, decrease the amount taxed by those low wage earners and eliminating tax deductions disproportionately claimed by people who earn a lot of money?

The only thing that really hurts Democrats, is that it was the GOP that did it.

I wonder if Landrieu is lucky enough to avoid a runoff, if the GOP can't consolidate behind one solid candidate.

You seem to be saying that if someone believes they are being tailed by a racist POS, they are justified if they attack them rather than run away.

The kid was entitled to defend himself too, after bring tailed by a racist POS with a gun for being somewhere he had every right to be. Moreover, it's hard for Zimmerman to claim self defense when he is the one who initiated the confrontation, even after 911 told him to back the **** off.

The thing is there is NO EVIDENCE TM was just defending himself.

Given everything we know, there's no evidence Zimmerman initiated the confrontation or that TM was ever actually threatened. Even his girlfriend quoted TM as saying someone was "Watching him"

Following somebody in public, even if they are "somewhere he had every right to be" is no illegal or threatening.

The fact that you are charactering Zimmerman as "racist" given other things in his history shows that you are thinking emotionally rather than rationally.

And like I said, I oppose the bill. I think 24 weeks is as you said the proper cut off. I just don't see the rape exception as necessary that late in a pregnancy.

Yeah exactly. If you haven't made that choice 5 months in, sorry, but the idea of carrying the baby obviously that objectionable to you. I'm all for women having the right to end a pregnancy caused by rape, but as in all things there are reasonable lines to be drawn.

I honestly believe the DA didn't want to go after Zimmerman because all the evidence points to Zimmerman acting out of fear for his life.

I think they only prosecuted because of political pressure and media attention, which explains why some of their witnesses were far more beneficial for the defense.

I'm amazed at how fast the word "hipster" has gone from general use to abuse. No one who is actually a hipster would even attempt to engage in urban farming.
