Description |
Constituency held by the Conservative party that gave a majority to "Remain" in the EU Referendum.
Duffield's victory was the first time Labour ever won Canterbury, the first time that the Conservative nominee didn't win this constituency since 1910 (which was won by an Independent Conservative), and the first victory by a non-Conservative/Independent Conservative candidate since 1868 when Canterbury elected two members to Parliament.
