BBC Constituency Profile:
The sprawling Drumchapel estate, one of Scotland's largest social housing projects, is the core of the Glasgow north west constituency. The area has suffered from Clydeside industrial decline but is home to one of Glasgow's last remaining shipyards, at Scotstoun on the Clyde.
Great Western Retail Park, on the A82 at the southern end of Drumchapel, provides more modern employment opportunities. In contrast, picturesque Victoria Park, with its famous boating lake and other leisure facilities, can be found on the eastern boundary of the seat.
Glasgow north west was born in 2005 out of a series of boundary changes and was won by Labour's John Robertson, who held the seat in 2010 with a 13,611 vote majority.
