BBC Constituency Profile:
Situated in south-east London, Greenwich and Woolwich is home to the Royal Naval College, Royal Observatory, National Maritime Museum and The O2, which has revitalised the area. Greenwich Park further raised the seat's profile by hosting numerous sporting events at the highly successful London 2012 Olympics.
This constituency has been in the hands of Labour's Nick Raynsford since its creation in 1997 (he was also MPfor the old seat of Greenwich from 1992 until it was redrawn) but he is standing down this time, with Greenwich West councillor Matthew Pennycook the party's parliamentary candidate. In 2010, Raynsfordwon 49.2% of the vote, with the Conservatives on 24.5%, Liberal Democrats 18.2% and BNP 2.8%.
There are 39.3% of residents aged from 25 to 44, figures from the ONS 2011 Census for England and Wales show, while the seat has the second-highest proportion of residents that follow the Buddhist religion (2.2%).
