Hollande wins, but I'm really not surprised.

M@: Cry me a river Bob. It wasn't up there for maybe a minute at the most.

You are full of sh*t.

So much so that you've totally soiled your velour tracksuit!

Did the exit poll understate the margin of Hollande's win, or are the unreported areas more friendly to Sarkozy?

It will tighten up a bit more, since parts of eastern France are still out. I don't think it will get to exit poll numbers, though, since Paris, Bordeaux, and Toulouse have not reported yet.

Time to sell shares in Total and BNP Paribas.

I wouldn't be shocked if the price tanked initially, but for future reference, the most recent share price of BNP Paribas was 28.99 euros, and Total S.A. was 35.51 euros. We'll see what it does in the next five years.

The stock market does go down when leftists are elected.

That's not a reason to elect conservatives.

That's a reason to create a system where the super rich can't economically blackmail us into electing their pawns.

Sometimes, when a company cuts jobs its stock price goes up.

I am well pleased that horrid little troll has been voted out.

And the gallery will note that I had the most accurate prediction on the percentage of the vote. Since I don't get any points for it, its the least they can do.

I think we are all overestimating how much of a conservative Sarkozy was, how much of a leftist Hollande will probably be, and how much the market cares about any news that's older than 24 hours.
