The word "other" should have also been a big clue as well.

Im sorry, but there is no way that this is possible. The district was made impossible for a Democrat to win. That's what Democrats get for ignoring state legislature elections in 2010.

While the Republicans are favored (and the lead is likely due to name recognition), people said the same thing in 1998 (when Dems barely lost the seat after abandoning it b/c they thought it would be too hard to hold) and also back when Earl Ruth held the seat. It is possible. Also, you were probably one of the people calling for Democrats to abandon attempts to hold things like the NC legislature because Obama's massive unpopularity was emperiling the Hawaii Senate or something like that.

I keep wondering if this election is similar to the Kansas District 3 election in 2008, Nancy Boyda was shown with leads and then on election day Lynn Jenkins ended up winning. A part of me just thinks Hudson will win this despite the polls showing otherwise.

What killed Kissell here was the addition of those Northern textile counties and taking out a good chunk of Cumberland. Obviously, taking away those Charlotte precincts hurt, but he could have survived without them.
