| Description |
The Finance Committee is an advisory board consisting of 7 members and an alternate appointed by the Town Moderator. The prime responsibility of the committee is to make recommendations on all financial matters, including the budget, to the Charlton town meeting. The Finance Committee also has responsibility for autorizing transfers from the Reserve Fund. The Reserve Fund is money appropriated each year by town meeting to cover extraordinary and unforeseen expenses that arise during the fiscal year, which runs from July 1 to June 30.
