Description |
The retirement of John Matheussen puts this Democrat-leaning seat in the toss-up category. Republicans have united behind Matheussen's successor, George Geist, who was has gained popularity in the district since he first won his Assembly seat in 1991. Democrats have picked Frederick Madden, who gave up a job as State Police director to take a shot at the seat.
Democrats see this as a key pick-up opportunity (rightfully so) and have already pledged to spend $2,000,000 to win the seat.
