| Description |
The only Independence Party National Convention was held in Orchestra Hall in Chicago IL. There were roughly 930 delegates. The first ballot for President: Thomas L. Hisgen 396, John T. Graves 213, Milton W. Howard 200, Lyon 71, and William R. Hearst 49. Hisgen was nominated on the third ballot: Hisgen 831, Howard 38, Graves 7, Hearst 2. Graves was selected to run for Vice President.
