Description |
Following the withdrawal of Conservative nominee Lord Archer a second citywide ballot was held of party members to select a nominee. The party interviewed nine hopefuls, not including right-wing rebel Teresa Gorman MP, whose candidacy was blocked by the party's local branch. In the end, a secret ballot advanced previous runner-up Steven Norris as well as former Hillingdon council leader Andrew Boff.
