Description BBC Profile:
Stourbridge was a Conservative seat from 1974 until 1997, when it was won by Labour. The current MP is Labour's Lynda Waltho, who emerged with a 407-vote majority in 2005, despite a 4.3% swing from Labour to the Conservatives.

Boundary changes mean that Amblecote, Quarry Bank and Dudley Wood, and Cradley and Foxcote all fall completely within this seat after gaining parts from Halesowen and Rowley Regis and Dudley South respectively. The acquisition of Quarry Bank and Dudley Wood is the most significant change here, adding a large north-eastern extension to the constituency. To find out what might have happened had this boundary change been in force at the last election, see a notional - or estimated - result below.

Lying on the edge of rural Worcestershire, Stourbridge has increasingly become a commuter town for those working in nearby West Midlands towns and cities. It retains much of its small-town appeal.

Glass has historically been the main industry in the town with a large plant in Amblecote, but recent scaling down has been felt within the constituency.
