The 3d Constitution Party National convention was held in the Regal Riverfront Hotel in St. Louis MO. The convention changed the name of the national party from the U.S. Taxpayers Party to the Constitution Party. Nominees: Howard Phillips for President, Joe Sobran for VP. Sobran was nominated unanimously (all 588 votes) but withdrew afterward.
