| Description |
On Wednesday, December 10, 2008 Mr. Ignatieff was unanimously endorsed by the Liberal parliamentary caucus to be the Interim Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. His nomination was confirmed by the Liberal national executive committee following a quick consultation process with prominent Liberals nationwide.
Ignatieff is expected to be confirmed as permanent leader by the party membership at the Liberal Party of Canada's Biennial Convention in Vancouver in May 2009.
