Description |
The results of this election were invalidated by Burma's military junta shortly after the results were announced. The junta continues to maintain control over the country to this day.
The election was held using a Westminster model where the Prime Minister would be elected from Parliament based on party standings. As such, known candidates replace parties here.
The Shan Nationalities League for Democracy, Arakan League for Democracy, and Zomi National Congress (which is included under 'Others'), among others, would've likely voted for Aung San Suu Kyi for Prime Minister. However, as that is speculative, their standings are included here.
