Description |
The 1st United Christian Party National Convention was held in Rock Island IL. The party had been formed on 7/4/1898.
The convention nominated Silas C. Swallow for president and John G. Woolley for vice president. At the time, the two men were vying for delegates at the state conventions of the Prohibition Party. Both men declined to run, and later the party selected Jonah F.R. Leonard for president and David H. Martin for vice president.
