I think Hull saw this coming actually. I can't be sure, but he was always more realistic about Blagojevich's position and even more now that Blago is having issues within the party. Maybe I'm buying into what Hull wants everyone to believe, but I think in this case he was more realistic. He also rebounded well from Daley's move--and I think we'll be hearing some good news very soon about Hull.

I'm not a Hull partisan, but I respect most of the big names in the race.

How come Pappas didn't show up in the poll?

Its strange that she did not especially because she got so high in other polls.

Is it just me or does this poll seem a bit off? At least compared to the others that have been published.

It also says around 45% undecided.

Hynes has a new poll showing him with 26% and with a double digit lead over Obama and Pappas. I discount all campaign polls, but it does highlight the fact that the FOX poll is out of step with all the others. I still think Obama will win, although he's my second choice behind Hynes.

The fact is that all the polls coming out right now are really only polling the hardcores of each party. No candidate is releasing commercials on their views or what they plan to do for Illinois. The only commericals I have even seen so far on TV are from Jack Ryan, and even there he only talks about his past, not what he plans on doing. It is really too early for any poll to completely give a good outlook on what would happen.

So did anyone see the fundraising reports? I'd say Hynes has shown he can raise money steadily. Obama did well once again but dropped from last quarter. I can't believe Chico is still running. But more so, I can't believe people still give him money. Nancy Skinner makes me laugh.

I think it's increasingly clear that it will be a 3 person race with Obama and Hynes the favorites and Hull with a shot. Pappas' entry would make Obama a heavy favorite, but I don't think she'd have much of a chance herself because she just won't have time to raise enough money.

If Hynes wins dont ya think he'd be a rising star in the party?

D:260moddem ( 0.0000 points)

Absolutely. That would be true of Obama too. But especially Hynes. Anyone who is a Senator at 35 would be seen as a rising star with national ticket potential.

I still don't see how Hull wins the primary or the general, which from my standpoint makes him a desirable candidate! I'd rather have anyone else in Washington, however.

I don't know if any of you have seen the NAACP debate but watching Hull's performance demonstrates the difference between Hull and Corzine. I think at one point he made this brilliant observation: "War is bad."

You betcha, Blair.

If you want to watch the debate by the way, Nancy Skinner has a link posted:
