The Shelby County Democratic Party nominated Reginald Tate as their replacement for Kathryn Bowers on 9/14/2006. [Link]
Republican nominee Michael Floyd dropped out of the race on Sept 15, 2006. Once they were notified that Floyd was actually dropped from the ballot, it was too late for the GOP to nominate a replacement candidate. [Link]
