Does Eich really have a chance?

Good question. I honestly don't know. When he first announced, he had momentum, but it seems like Jubelirer has gotten it back on his side and raised his disapproval ratings. I'll let you guys know if anything happens in this race.

How'd Jubelirer get momentum back?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the recent pay-raise furor takes out Jubelirer in this primary. With Eichelberger coming out on top and then going on to win the general in the fall.

No. Jubelirer is fired up like I've honestly never seen him. He'll remind the district about the power he has in Harrisburg and his Pro Tempore position is big for the 30th district and when he goes, the mid part of the state is losing alot. My state house race is also open and he needs to come here and remind people its probably not a good idea to start over in the state house and state senate. Plus, Eich has little money and what is coming into the area for him is from other parts of the state.

This area is SAFE GOP right.

Very safe...although some speculation exists that District 81 in the State House may switch hands because of the morons on the GOP side.

Kudos to Scranton for endorsing Eichelberger!

Not really...Scranton, and for that fact Piccola, were pissed that Jubelirer jumped behind Swann really early. In fact, Jubelirer is the reason why Matthews is running with Swann. Plus, Scranton was the anti-pay raise candidate, which Eichelberger is too.

Right now it appears that this will be the most important primary in Pa today. Eich is the most likely winner of the Pa. Cleansweep organization. Cleansweep needs some victories today or it will have a serious public relations problem on its hands.

FYI-turnout is light thus far, so judge who that helps among yourself. The thing that makes me think Jubelirer will win is Eich brought in alot of outside help wheras Jubelirer is using people from mostly within the district. I'm going back out, this will be fun for me.

Jubes is one of four incumbent state senators who are trailing their anti-pay grab opponents.

And it looks like Blair County, Jubelirer's base is already in too. The only thing that could save him is if he does very well in Huntingdon County, which hasn't come in yet.

It is unbelieveable that people would be this ignorant in who they vote for. They forget about all the things Jubelirer has done for them in the State Senate for 30 years, but one mistake and look out. I hope their happy, as Eich doesn't get along with anyone, especially Congressman Shuster.

Mike, I have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. Jubelirer clearly deserved this fate. And if he had won re-nomination, the Dems would have clearly taken this seat. Now it should stay safely in GOP hands.
