Description |
Republican challenger Mike Ferguson, who would move north to run successfully for retiring Rep. Bob Franks's seat in 2000, ran a credible, conservative campaign against entrenched incumbent Frank Pallone.
Pallone's committment to constituent service and protecting the environment saved the day as he won by nearly 23,000 votes.
