I'm not sure how easy this would be, but one thing that's always annoyed me with the tags is that the tags regarding taxes only deal specifically with the Bush tax cuts.

I think it would make more sense to replace them with something broader. I'm not sure exactly what would be ideal, but maybe something like "Supported/Supports Tax Increases" and "Supported/Supports Tax Cuts"

It would be much more applicable to a wider range of candidates, particularly all those candidates who were dead long before Bush was ever in office.
