And I'm still concerned with abuse - I can kill the feature for the person or the site if it is abused. I could easily remove the function at any time, so don't count on it being there. And I could reveal the users, so don't count on anonymity.

I think the "Work Completed" could be good if someone requests something so people could immediately see if they have to do anything. And I think some of it would be good for site comments to see if people like an idea without putting it to a vote.

Definitely something to keep in mind. Is this an access level? Steve Boudreaux-esque accounts could be problematic.

I don't like the new feature. It's something I would expect to see on the Degrassi fan site.

Definitely like the "work completed."

I like it, tentatively at least. I say we give it a chance and see how it pans out.

If anyone has any suggestions for more, feel free. I don't want to add many though, so only important ones.

Jason: Is this an access level?

Not yet, but it will be. Might tie it to creating user polls for the time being. Want to re-do the access system a bit. Same basic idea, but better organized.

This is one of the few new additions to the site that I don't like very much. That said, I'm definitely willing to give it a shot. Maybe my mind will be changed.

RP: If it isn't working for you, let me know what browser you are using.

Firefox 5.0 here. I see some icons at the top of people's posts and I see a 2 cents notation in front of the date but I don't see any way of doing anything with the icons or the 2 cents. Life will go on if I can't use this feature, however.

I'm on Firefox 5 on Mac and it works fine for me.

I see different icons on each post. Some have only a thumbs-up, some only a thumbs-down, and other have things like wrenches or what I presume is a troll's face....and I don't seem to be able to actually select any of them.

Click on "2¢" beside the date any given post and you can select which icon to apply to that post (i.e. click "Agree" to give thumbs-up, "troll" to give a troll's face...)

Ah. I was confused at first too... heh. I was looking for buttons or something like that.

I'm really not a fan, but I'm not going to rant or leave the site. I'm just not going to personally use it.

I'm OK now too. It was unclear I could use the 2cents feature because the cursor gave no indication that clicking would be any different from clicking on plain text.

Yeah, I had to use the onclick instead of a regular link so I could reliably grab the mouse position.

For some reason, it's not letting me give my two cents on people's posts when I "view previous discussion" on either Safari 5.0.5 for Mac OS 10.6.8 or Safari for the iPad. Anything that has been posted since my last login and is on the main container page can be rated, but nothing else.

I know. But View Previous discussion is about to go away in its current form.

At first glance I don't really care for this, partially because of the potential for abuse but it also looks cluttered to me when more than one 2¢ is used for the same post. Perhaps that will change as I get used to it.

My suggestion is to make the symbols appear on the list of comments on the user's profile page.
