Leftist party part of two joined in the 'Cap pour le change' (CACH) parliamentary coalition (the other being the 'Union for Democracy and Social Progress') supporting the December 30, 2018 presidential election of President Félix Tshisekedi.
Party was able to secure a handful of minister appointments in the Sylvestre Ilunga Government established on September 6, 2019, including its chief of cabinet Vital Kamerhe, who happens to also be the UNC president, and a on-time National Assembly President [Union pour la nation congolaise (UNC)].
